Tips for Summer Travel

Also -- here are a few updates to help you manage your travel:
- United looks to be in pretty good shape, having reached agreements with union leaders representing all the major staff functions. There are also numerous investors interested in helping United emerge from bankruptcy, so you should not hesitate to book on United, and your frequent flyer miles look fine for now.
- America West has proposed acquiring US Airways, to form a merged company that will be known as US Airways. If the merger does happen, your frequent flyer miles will be in good shape. While I think the proposed merger is terrible from an investor standpoint (few airline mergers have been successful), the marriage should yield some great offerings for us as consumers.
- Just came across an excellent article about how we should weigh dealing with risks associated with terrorism. It's not a short read, but as informed travelers, this is especially important for us to understand:
